Cavendish is a robust and easy to use visualization tool for the N-body problem. The first program of its kind for Mac OS X, it has an intuitive interface, beautiful graphics and an accurate and fast core physics engine. Cavendish is named for Henry Cavendish (1731 - 1810) who used a torsion balance to make the first accurate measurement of the Universal gravitational constant.
Cavendish simulates gravitation and accurately models stable planetary orbits, gravity slingshots, solar systems, asteroid belts, galactic collisions, or any other world you can imagine.
Features include:
- 3D simulation and visualization via OpenGL
- Accurate gravitation and collision dynamics
- Human-readable XML data files
- True support for an infinite number of bodies
- Export to tab-delimited data for later analysis
- Automatic tracking of bodies
- Complete control over simulations: over 45 different customizable parameters
- Wicked fast performance
- Easy to use system design tool
